Knives Out For Quinn

machete

Former S.C. House Majority Leader Rick Quinn hasn’t even announced his intentions for the 2010 election cycle, but that hasn’t stopped his old political adversaries from pulling out the long knives.

Quinn – who sources tell FITS will run for the seat being vacated by Lexington Rep. Ted Pitts – is already being attacked along deeply personal lines by the paid political blogger of RINO consultant J. Warren Tompkins, part of a promised “sledgehammer of oppo(sition research).”

We expressed mixed feelings about Quinn’s bid initially, but it’s obvious that the RINO wing of the Republican Party doesn’t want him to run … which means Quinn must be listening to the “better angels” of his political nature, which helped propel dozens of conservative reforms through the S.C. House of Representatives prior to the onset of the Bobby Harrell Speakership.

Here’s just a taste of the vitriol that the Tompkins’ petty hate machine is already spewing in Quinn’s direction.

“(Quinn) was kicked out of his house for a while for cheating on his wife, and shacked up with Will Folks, (former S.C. Rep.) Dan Tripp and Tumpy Campbell,” wrote Tompkins’ paid blogger, Wes Wolfe, on his website earlier this week.

In fact, take a look at the published remark for yourself …

Whoa!

Did we mention Quinn hasn’t even announced that he’s running yet?

Anyway, as much as we’re inclined to allow Quinn’s own political mouthpiece to speak for him, we couldn’t help but weighing in on this.

First of all, let’s bear in mind that spreading bogus rumors is nothing new to Wolfe, who was forced to shut down his last blog after he falsely accused S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer of having a cocaine problem.

But the real issue isn’t the false content, it’s the early and overt acknowledgement of the potential threat Quinn poses to the RINOcrat balance of power at the S.C. State House.

In fact there’s no way to describe it other than pure, telegraphed fear.

Clearly, Quinn’s father is no stranger to repping RINOs, but the younger Richard’s record – as we’ve noted previously – is tough to criticize. Plus, he’s got a bandwagon of loyal supporters in the House, which would no doubt provide a strong base of power for a “freshman” lawmaker.

Obviously, we’ll continue to follow this race as Quinn moves toward a decision …

Old Buffalo Butt does have a good track record politically, even if his personal life has been a lengthy embarrassment. He’d be a pretty good fit for that district.

Bogus? No, that’s pretty accurate. What, you forget that little period of time several years ago?

Wes-

We don’t know any other way to explain this except to say that your statement – like the vast majority of crap you write – is not “pretty accurate,” it’s patently false.

I think the term ’shacked up’ refers to a sexual relationship with whomever he was ’shacked up’ with. This seems libelous to me.

If Mr. Wolf had said that he was riding the couch at someone’s house I think there would not be an issue.

What do you think? W?

In spite of your differences, I think we can all agree that Quinn has an ass the size of a minivan.

Let’s get this straight. sic(k) willie is blasting Wes “spreading bogus rumors.” Pot talks to kettle.

sic(k) willie, you are a political pimp. You spread rumors. Every now and then you pick up a shred of truth somewhere else and claim a “scoop.”

Your “scoops” are just kitty litter.

Want to fix your credibility? Here’s how.

Give us names, facts and details about the Midlands’ elected official you once claimed has a Strom problem? A birth certificate would help.

And give us facts about the “poor little black girl.” You really looked stupid “digging gold” over a grave.

We have a huge list of willie scams.

Start with those.

I sees him at Publix in Lexington often. …as often as I used to see him in the bars of the Vista.

Quinn is better than the most of them.

ummmm. that’s interesting commentary from Wes Wolfe–whom I don’t even know–about Quinn shacking up with me, Tumpy and Folks. I’d be willing to lay $1000 dollars on the table and strap on the lie detector to test the veracity of Wolfe’s comments. He’s a liar plain and simple. I’m calling you out Wolfe man.

What I like best about Wes Wolfe is that while I’d always assumed he was an idiot, he’s good enough to confirm that with his inane commentary. Well done, Wes.

Dan Tripp? Wow . . . thank goodness he went away. That was about to get messy. Another one of Quinn’s puppets.

I’d love for Quinn to run. But will Sic turn the microscope on his publishing business that prints almost everything for Private McConnell’s sub?

District 69 (fitting?) could do a lot better. How about Adam Tesh? …the perfect cookie cutter cut-out of what the “image” should be.
