Then they decided to make Hollywood types out of the drivers. “Fans” now support drivers in lieu of cars as they did in the old days. Give me Fireball, Junior Johnson, Curtis Turner, Pearson, etc. any day NASCAR died years ago when they forgot it was about STOCK CARS and not cookie cutters cars built from the ground up with decals added to make them appear to be a particular brand. But Mayfield's not dead yet, The France clan my give in after Bill Diehl gets done with them. He's an absolute pit bull for an attorney and NASCAR has made a huge mistake not keeping him on retainer.
