“U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett was the only South Carolina Representative to vote against the bailout, while Republicans Henry Brown, Joe Wilson and Bob Inglis all supported it, along with Democratic Reps. John Spratt and Jim Clyburn.”

Brown voted for the 700 billion bailout and should be defeated!! Vote this rascal out of office in 2010. I hardly care who runs but will support the most viable fiscal conservative candidate.

The rumor is that governor bid nominee Henry McMaster is giving immunity to former solicitor Jay Hodge at the request of Repr. Ted Vick (Chesterfield) and dem. nominee Vincent Sheheen. I think this is bad judgement of both McMaster and Sheheen. People vote for candidates to try to keep corruption out. You both are starting out on the wrong foot if you do something such as this. Stephen Colbert is not a viable candidate for trash collector. Colbert wouldn’t last 1:30 debating anything, but ‘South Park politics’. I wonder about some of you guys.

not sure if you have noticed but Henry has been all over the district preparing for reelection.

I dont know about you, but think it’s a bad idea to bring Al Queda to the naval brig instead of having them miles off our own coast in GITMO. Henry understands this and is doing the right thing.

Actually, they men mentioned would have to prove malice because they are public figures. That is not easy to do. Then they have to prove the harm done. Their trials would be a media circus. The best thing for them is to ignore her.

Suppose one of the men said, “I am not gay.” Then the question would be “is there something wrong with being gay?” And, all of sudden, a politician is in a firestorm.

They are doing the right thing not taking the bait.

It has kind of surprised me how she is using right bloggers as her loud speaker on this. Sic took the bait hook, line and sinker and is pushing the gay agenda by doing so.

BTW, Strom Thurmond did not get married until he was 45 or so and was Governor. I know, Sic, Strom was a RINO. But ask yourself, what is the motivation of an openly gay woman who is a gay rights activist accusing unmarried politicians of being gay? I would consider that before I kept putting her remarks out there.

Henry Brown’s not even going to be the opposition — $5 says he drops out before Labor Day. The real candidate to beat? Stephen Colbert. No, really. He’s from the district, probably still owns some property there so qualifying wouldn’t be too tough, and unlike the whole presidential thing, the fact that he’s only running in SC wouldn’t be an issue or a reason to dq him. Not my idea though, someone put up a site for him at colbertforcongress.com but i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s behind it.

But seriously, who wouldn’t want to see a debate between Colbert, Paul Thurmond, Tumpy Campbell, and whatever other ass-clowns the district produces for this one.

And really, I don’t understand the big deal about the suspected terrorists being jailed here… wouldn’t it mean more jobs and Federal money? Maybe you’ve been watching a bit too much Passenger 57 or (insert Tom Clancy movie here), but these guys who get locked up here (and there’ve been a lot, and some right here in SC) are in exceedingly heavy lockdown and are not going to escape and wander around the back country raping your women. If they get tried and acquitted, they’ll be repatriated to their native country (and likely jailed there).

Henry is a great Congressman who is leading the fight to keep Gitmo terrorists out of the naval brig in CHS

This is a key issue that is important to the 1st district that Henry leads on. He works hard for his constituents and they will reward him with another term
