Not sure whether Howard Rich has direct influence over this WSJ writer. But I do question the reporting in this column; not so sure Harold Mitchell is a private school choice supporter, as this column clearly suggests.

Also, I always wonder about these polls (cited in the article) that indicate “such-and-such percentage of people” want school choice or whatever else. I mean, if you ask the typical parent if they’d like to be able to choose any school whatsoever for their children, then naturally you’ll get a high positive response rate. But if you explain to people that, well, no, their kid probably won’t be admitted into any of their community’s local private school….and, no, there won’t be school bus transportation….and, no, you won’t qualify for a tax credit and may or may not get a scholarship….I just wonder if all that is explained how that might affect the polling numbers.

Umm…what about all the poor white kids? Latinos? others who are in same situation? Why is it that “African Americans” have unofficial rights to the term “Civil Rights”? Education and the lack thereof for many in our country goes beyond any one color. Yes, a disproportionate number are minority but nevertheless it involves all ethnicities.It’s disingenuous to fight for just “African Americans” in this context.He has the right attitude but needs to broaden the scope.

“…did it again” is a sarcastic voucher clown, but he’s right.

Howie and his carpetbuggers will pay off anyone to push the voucher scam.

They care nothing about the children their voucher scam leaves behind.

And senator ford is as morally bankrupt as GM is broke. He can’t suck down enough of Howie’s voucher scam money to get elected gub’ner.

Somebody please tell Howie that his voucher scam is dead in S.C.

I was just introduced to this website yesterday and I think it’s amazing.

With that being said- I support Robert Ford 100%. Unfortunately, when it comes to education here in SC we have a broken system, and I’m not sure how to repair it. I’m proud of Ford putting this plight at the fore front, and letting us know that he does have a plan of action. Will it succeed?? Only time & money will tell- but we can’t keep going down the road were on fellow Sandlappers.
