Eminem’s Cheeky Redundancy

Years ago, Eminem did the whole “my bum is on your lips” thing and it was sort of original. It wasn’t particularly interesting, but it was sort of original … again, the first time he did it.

It’s sort of like when he raps about Mariah Carey. That was also original … the first time he did it.

Yet as much as legions of Eminem groupies want to claim otherwise, it appears that the rapper is recycling both his Mariah rants and his “bum on the lips” bit.

In fact, the latter took place courtesy of actor Sacha Baron Cohen during Sunday night’s MTV awards – which we didn’t watch because as it turns out we’re not fifteen-year-old girls.

Uh yeah.

Amazingly enough, we actually didn’t need the Seattle Post Intelligencer to tell us that the incident was staged.

Both Cohen and Eminem’s schtik is wearing on us … they need to stop “imitating” (like “all the other Slim Shadys”) and get some new material.
