Well Whaddya Know … Government Can Be Cut
“From the Redwood Forests to the …” never mind.
It turns out we can’t sing “This Land Is Our Land” for y’all anymore, because every time we do alarm bells go off over at the Department of Homeland Security.
Seriously … for the millionth time, guys, we’re not trying to overthrow your government. Not yet, anyway … :)
What we are trying to do, though, is limit government – which starts by demonstrating that it’s actually possibly for government to stop doing something without the world stopping on its axis.
Take California, which is currently having to shutter some of its state parks.

On Tuesday, as part of an effort to close the state’s $24 billion deficit, (Gov. Arnold) Schwarzenegger unveiled a series of proposed cuts. They included a plan to eliminate $70 million in state general fund money to parks in the year that ends in June 2010 and $143 million of that funding by June 2011. The latter number represents 40 percent of the state park system’s $387 million operating budget.
In effect, the plan would phase out all general fund support of parks, leaving them funded only by entry fees, camping fees, and various small taxes, such as a tax on fuel for off-road vehicles.
Hold up … what’s this? A government program is actually being cut? We thought this was the age of Obama? The “era of morbidly obese government,” if you will …
And yet California is cutting. Faced with the dire consequences of a decade of over-spending, the Golden State is now asking a non-essential government entity to (gasp) sustain itself?
The horror!
Of course, this cut (and others like it) came only after California voters overwhelmingly rejected a series of tax increases proposed by Schwarzenegger – who has pretty much turned into the biggest RINO west of the Mississippi.
Not surprisingly, the state’s whacko environmentalists are already collecting signatures and staging rallies in opposition to the cuts, to which we can only say “tough Shinola.”
Or as they said in Wedding Crashers, “big tree fall hard.”

All this money in real dollars is procured from unaware taxpayers.

Excellent…why are people so brainwashed about all this government power.Government should not take land.T.R. had not constitutional right to do this.All the parks should be sold.Not only would it not cost us tax money to run…but the government would get taxes from it.

Our Politicians keep telling us our Immigration laws are broken and we need an comprehensive solution, which are code words for Amnesty, our Immigration Laws are not broken, they just have not been enforced, what is broken is our Political system when we elect Corrupt/Pandering politicians that puts their desires ahead of the Constitution of USA and the Rule of Law!
Our government fails the most basic and primary task & duty of government, to protect this Nation and its Citizens from invasion and enforce its laws.
They refuse to abide by our Constitution, refuse to enforce our Immigration Laws and refuse to honor their Oath of Office!
Our Government, past & present, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 20 to 30 million criminals and uneducated peons which is the largest invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means & in direct violation of Article IV, Section IV of our Constitution.
This refusal to abide by our Constitution or enforce our Immigration Laws should be classified as Treason of the most foul kind, & as grounds for impeachment & trials for Treason!
Not only have they allowed the invasion, they force American tax payers to pay Billions on Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison cells, Educate the invaders numerous children, and free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws and massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens at an rate the terrorist can only dream about.
Recent statements in Mexico from both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary something needs to be done. “Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers, and civilians,” she said.
But no mention, concern or care that their refusal to stop the Massive Invasion of Illegal Aliens pouring across our borders or enforce our immigration laws that causes an estimated 25 Americans deaths per day and 10,s of thousands victims of Assault, Robberies, Rapes, Identify thief, and other assorted crimes committed by the invading horde of Illegal Aliens from Mexico on American citizens each year!
It is a telling indictment & shows their Empathy & Compassion of our Politicians & their priorities when they express 100,s of time more concern over three Terrorist being water broader than the havoc & crimes of Illegal Aliens against American Citizens!
Most of our Politicians in Wash. DC are wading knee deep in innocent American blood and suffering because they put Politics ahead of the welfare of American Citizens & the future of this Nation!

An unholy alliance of Socialist Democrat politicians, Unions, and Illegal Aliens supporters are feasting at the trough of tax payers paid benefits while taxing & regulating business and the tax paying public into poverty.
The pandering of Left Wing Democrat Politicians to their constituency of Illegal Aliens, open border supporters, and unions are driving business and citizens to other states & countries, while leaving the parasites & welfare leeches in an increasing bankrupt, crime ridden, dysfunctional state!

Economic Stimulus. H.R. 5140, the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, passed 385-35 on January 29, 2008 (Roll Call 25). It would provide about $150 billion in economic stimulus, including $101.1 billion in direct payments of rebate checks (typically $600) to most taxpayers in 2008 and temporary tax breaks for businesses. Creating money out of thin air and then spending the newly created money cannot improve the economy, at least not in the long term. (If it could, why not create even more money for rebates and make every American a millionaire?) The stimulus has no offset and thus increases the federal deficit by the amount of the stimulus because the government must borrow the rebate money. A realistic long-term stimulus can only be achieved by lowering taxes through less government and by reducing regulatory burdens.
