Kim Strikes Again!

Mere days after detonating its biggest nuclear device ever, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (a.k.a. North Korea) conducted yet another short-range missile test – further flexing its military muscles in direct defiance of near-universal condemnation.

Condemnation that is 100% verbal, obviously.

For example the United States – which has nearly 30,000 troops on the Korean Peninsula – isn’t going to do anything to stop the DPRK and its mercurial midget leader, Kim Jong Il.

In fact, based on U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ response to all this, there’s nothing to worry about.

“I don’t think that anybody in the [Obama] administration thinks there is a crisis,” Gates told reporters last night in aboard his cush military jet en route to some boondoggle “security conference” in Singapore.

Say what?

Gates quickly rebounded by saying that the test “brings home the reality of the challenge that North Korea poses to the region and to the international community,” which – let’s face it – is meaningless rhetoric not unlike what he accused Kim and the Koreans of trafficking.

Obviously we’re not advocating that Barack Obama and Gates start a “land war in Asia,” but perhaps we could drop some cruise missiles on their testing facilities or something.

Or maybe blow up some government buildings Pyongyang.

We’re just thinking out loud here, people … but one thing we can say for sure is that pretending this isn’t a crisis is not the correct answer.

Let’s face it, China and Russia are calling the shots. North Korea is their proxy as are Iran, Venezuela, and Bolivia. Soon the entire US will be ringed with nukes.

Yes we can!

I think the next time NK fires a missile over Japan, Japan should return the favor by firing missiles at the installations responsible. Call me a warmonger, but if Cuba began test firing missiles over Florida I would expect nothing less than a full and immediate overwhelming response.

But Seth, that would be anti-Latino!
