Former Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson’s four-year-old daughter Exodus died at a Phoenix hospital yesterday, one day after being accidentally hung from the neck by a treadmill cord in her family’s home.
Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident, but flew to Phoenix to be at his daughter’s side.
From the AP (via ESPN):
Police said Exodus either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hanging under the console. Her 7-year-old brother found her and told their mother. She took Exodus off the cord, called 911 and tried to revive her.
Good God … can Mike Tyson catch a break?
Seriously, he’s brought a lot of misfortune on himself over the course of his life, but no one deserves this. Obviously, the cops are calling the death a “tragic accident.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Iron Mike and everyone touched by this tragedy.
