Last year, it was an alleged suburban sex scandal involving a S.C. school superintendent …
This year it’s a rural South Carolina solicitor mired in a web of suspicion and intrigue over the alleged misappropriation of public funds.
Both stories were broken here on FITS – and both sparked firestorms in the local communities, turning our website into something of a local barber shop. In fact, our “Sex, Lies & Educrats” story prompted a whopping 420 comments – a veritable torrent of citizen interaction.
That same trend seems to be taking hold with our stories on the Pee Dee Solicitor’s Scandal, as nearly 100 readers have already commented on the three stories we’ve written thus far about the alleged misuse of drug court and pre-trial intervention funding.
Obviously, we’re continuing to investigate the allegations surrounding former Fourth Circuit Solicitor Jay Hodge.
More relevant from our statewide perspective, perhaps, we’re also continuing to investigate allegations that several big-name law enforcement and political leaders turned a blind eye to his reported misdeeds – including State Rep. Ted Vick and Democratic gubernatorial front-runner Vincent Sheheen.
Additionally, we’ve received multiple reports detailing the alleged intimidation of potential witnesses related to these events, including two individuals who have reportedly changed their tune with federal investigators under immense pressure from some of the individuals being investigated.
Small town justice, it would appear, is difficult to obtain.
Perhaps craziest of all, though, we’re looking into reports that some of the very shenanigans that federal officials are currently investigating may be ongoing, as one individual admitted into a pre-trial intervention program was reportedly observed working on property owned by former Solicitor Hodge as recently as today.
As always, stay tuned …

Well here’s some more. I read of Rep Vick’s involvement in a house purchase in relation to the Hodge controlled Mercy Ministries. So I asked a contact at the County Courthouse to search tax records for Mercy Ministries and found that the property in question was purchased by MTV Properties, LLC so I had another contact do a search and guess what? MTV Properties, LLC is owned by none other than Rep Vick. In March 2007, his LLC bought the property and then sold it to Mercy Ministries for $12,500. thus netting Rep Vick’s company a modest profit. One can only wonder what else hangs out there.

sic(k) willie is such a pimp. We would not be surprised if he tried to take credit for landing a man on the moon. What an “…ignorant slut.”
sic(k) willie is a news source like a pimp is a social worker.
Our Funding Editor is so concerned she has ordered all BIN staff to wear rubber gloves and masks when accessing sic(k) willie’s porn site.

Ted admitted to getting what was it 7000 from the solicitors office plus a phone. I looked on theb sc etics web page. That is double what he reports? Why is he hiding informatin. Something smells fishy with that. So you guess the phone was so jay hodge could get in touch with him in africa. No I know what it was for. It was so ted could call jay and let him know he had more property that he got from an elderlt lady in the nursing home that he needed to sell to mercy. Now we got it solved. Which one of these folks are gonna be the scape for the crowd. I would guess they called brother davis and they agreed it would not be one of those in rthe click??? (Hanks Mr Ronnie for your comments! Keep it going folks don’t let the scare ya!

Most of these officials are corrupt and would do anything for a pretty penny. Sad but true, unfourtonately.
