Sanford Moves To Toss State “Stimulus” Case
Attorneys for S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford have asked that a state “stimulus” lawsuit filed by educrats be folded into a pending federal case given the speed with which the S.C. Supreme Court has moved to take up the case.
What’s at stake? Hundred of millions of dollars that lawmakers have already appropriated in the state’s $20.6 billion budget – money that Sanford wants to use to pay down debt, instead.
Clearly, the suit filed in state court by the S.C. Association of School Administrators has been “hot-wired,” and the governor wants the case moved to federal court before Chief Justice Jean Toal can hand-deliver this pot of roughly $700 million over to her cronies in the legislature.
“It’s sick the little wink-wink that’s going on between (Senate President Glenn) McConnell and Toal,” one S.C. Senator told FITS. “It’s like they settled this months ago over drinks. The SCASA suit was decided before it was even filed, before it even had a petitioner or counsel.”
Sanford filed his suit last week after lawmakers overrode his vetoes of “stimulus” money.

Still can’t grasp the 10th amendment caucus (your likely SC Senator) and the Governor now WANT the Federal Court to intervene….they don’t like the feds, except when they think they may can help them…

We need to get this through and balance the budget with the 700 million. Then after a few cuts we can give big tax incentives to get some companies into the state to get some jobs growth. How about we sell some of the state owned golf courses and the maintance costs for that..DUH???Oh I forgot..Then there will be empty schools and criminals running in the streets.blah blah…You people are so simple minded .Why cant follow basic math and commom sense? and you always fall back to the scare tactics that have no basis.

The $700 million is just the amount of money Sanford saved the taxpayers when he slept in his office in Washington. Yeah right! What a phony.

This is not the first time the Democratic Queen and the Rupublican Confederate General have cut a sweet deal together. Remember the threats to take the Hunley financing bills to the Supremes that suddenly vanished? John Monk’s story? And the General is chairman of Senate Judiciary Committee. Wonder why the investigations into the Judicial Branch have not gone anywhere? “You keep your Hunley money and I keep my kingdom as I want it….”
