We Almost Had A Winner

Our founding editor momentarily suspended FITS’ inaugural “S.C. Hottest Lawyer” competition earlier today and was on the verge of unilaterally declaring a winner … until he discovered that the would-be recipient of this coveted honor actually works in North Carolina, and is thus ineligible.

That’s right, Nexsen Pruet hottie – and former Carolina “Top Cat” – Heather Johnson almost walked away with the title (and Sic Willie’s heart) after her “name and information” was forwarded to us by one of our regular contributors.

Swoon! In fact, double swoon!

Johnson has been featured previously on the Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog, where it was revealed that the firm she worked for prior to Nexsen Pruet inexplicably frowned on her cheerleading.

Inconceivable, right?

You might as well frown on sunshine. Or Johnny Carson. Or somebody giving you a million bucks.

“It is regrettable that Ms. Johnson works in Charlotte and is so attractive,” a downcast Sic Willie said. “But rules are rules, and they must be followed.”

Anyway, while we’re very sorry that we cannot (personally) present the “S.C. Hottest Lawyer” prize to Ms. Johnson, the good news is that we’ll be unveiling our Five Palmetto State Finalists on Monday …
