After all. it has been America's farmers who have benefited more than most in this country from the Federal government's largesse. Besides numerous outright grants and subsidies, they were one of the driving forces behind the Federal food stamp program and now the ethanol program. I guess in farm parlance, it's "who can get their snout in the trough when feeding time comes."
