We knew that powerful S.C. Senate President Glenn McConnell was adept at “morphing” the rules of the chamber to suit his political purposes, but we had no idea he was “Morpheus” himself.

Over the past few days, McConnell has reportedly threatened to unleash something he calls the “Motions Matrix” if he doesn’t get what he wants.

What is the “Motions Matrix,” exactly?

According to a Senate staffer who spoke with FITS on condition of anonymity, it’s a complex, multi-layered progression of procedural “motions” that would enable McConnell to completely shut down the State Senate until such time as his demands were met.

Pretty cool … or at least it would be if McConnell used his power for good.

As it is, it’s yet another example of our dysfunctional state government.

Dysfunctional this; dysfunctional that.

Here a dysfunctional; there a dysfunctional.

Everywhere a dysfunctional.

Reasonable, responsible people think sic(k) willie’s “stuck on stupid.”

Actually, he’s stuck on “dysfunctional.”

sic(k) willie, turn the page in Mandy’s Thesaurus.

There are other words. Lots of other big words.
