So who was flying your state plane all over kingdom come yesterday?

Apparently, it was a group of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials.

Their purpose? To discuss federal funding for airports as part of President Barack Obama’s big bad “bureaucratic bailout.”

As we noted yesterday, these officials flew South Carolina’s official Beechcraft King Air from Columbia to Rock Hill, Rock Hill to Lancaster, Lancaster to Camden, Camden to Florence, Florence to Sumter, and Sumter back to Columbia.

Seriously, a friggin’ conference call would have killed these people? Or a letter and some stamps?

Sheesh …

Here’s a hint … ready?

GoToMeeting.com.

Promo code?

“Stop wasting our friggin’ money.”

Anyway, we may have stumbled on the flight log for N1SC, a.k.a. “Palmetto One,” courtesy of a friend of ours who recently flew aboard it.

Stay tuned …

Did Sanford ever reimburse the state for flying private citizens to DC for Obauguration?

Will,
I can’t speak for the other locations but in Lancaster they did the final inspection of the recent west apron expansion, where with a public-private partnership Lancaster County leased the land for construction of new private hangars, and met with the engineers regarding the upcoming runway rehabilitation project. Part of this was an inspection of the runway, including a safety zone issue we have and an inspection of the AWAS. These projects were already in the FAA pipeline prior to Obama taking office. No mention of stimulus funding was made here. In Lancaster the trip was necessary.

I enjoy the site and your nice comments on my Senator, Mick Mulvaney.
