Red Means Stop, Mr. Speaker
A blue Ford SUV with a license plate denoting the driver as the S.C. Speaker of the House just ran a red light in Clemson, S.C., sources tell FITS.
House Speaker Bobby Harrell was said to have been behind the wheel of the vehicle – which initially came to a stop at the College Avenue red light, but then proceeded through the intersection anyway prior to the light turning green.
The incident took place at approximately 12:50 p.m. Thursday, according to witnesses.
And no, we don’t care that Bobby Harrell ran a red light.
Seriously – you don’t have to be important to do that.
We posted this for no other reason than to freak every member of the General Assembly out.
It’s like that Police song, “Every breath you take/ Every move you make/ Every bond you break/ Every step you take.”
Or in Bobby’s case, “Roxanne, you don’t have to put on the red light.”
