In case you’re fearing another gratuitous pimping of our favorite Palmetto political leader, Senator Tom Davis, we were actually asked to hook you up with this little nugget.

As it turns out, one little word from FITS means “boo-coup” web traffic, and even our fiercest rivals don’t want to miss out on the hits we rain down on them.

Of course, we really do love us some Tom Davis, and the fact that he’s appearing on a S.C. Senate webcast this morning is a welcome departure from the typical inane guffawing that serves as the program’s “content.”

Davis – who served as Chief-of-Staff to Gov. Mark Sanford until last year – is arguably the most aggressive, articulate and influential reformer in Columbia.

Frequently mentioned as a 2010 gubernatorial prospect, the Beaufort Republican coasted to a double-digit win over incumbent Sen. Catherine Ceips in 2008 despite the fact that the S.C. Senate Republican Caucus spent over $100,000 trying to defeat him.

You can log on here to catch the interview.

Of course, we do hope Sen. Davis remembers to set his watch back and wear “period-appropriate attire” when he appears on the show.

“Senate Time” in this state, after all, is 1895.

UPDATE - Here’s a preview of Davis’ appearance.
