We’ve never had our faces blasted off with a shot-gun (yet), so we have no idea what that feels like.
Our guess? Not good.
And we’ve got to give props to Ohio’s Connie Culp for surviving that harrowing ordeal and its painful aftermath. This woman spent years unable to eat or breathe without help from a tube in her windpipe, people.
The most amazing thing? She’s got a sense of humor about it all.
Having said all of that, though, the recipient of America’s first “face transplant” probably won’t be striking a pose on the cover of Vogue anytime soon.
Face transplants still have a ways to go, people, and we’re not just talking about the Silence of the Lambs-style tailoring they use (i.e. taking faces from dead people).
That’s too bad, because we heard that Brad Pitt was itching to look like this.
Of course our guess is that Connie Culp doesn’t care about striking a pose. She can breathe and eat normally again, which are two things most of the world just takes for granted.
