What a difference a year makes.
While one smooth talking leftist works to implement the most liberal agenda America has ever seen, the smooth talking leftist who provided him with a key endorsement is now the subject of a federal investigation.
It’s the latest revelation in the sad saga of John Edwards, the trial lawyer-turned-politician we accurately pegged as an insensitive prick long before it was politically-correct to do so.
“I want to thank John for everything that he has already done to make us one America,” Barack Obama said last May in accepting Edwards’ endorsement of his presidential campaign in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
One America?
Please.
A year later, Edwards is facing a federal investigation into whether or not he improperly used money intended for political purposes on expenses related to his mistress, Rielle Hunter.
That would be illegal – and it would also be just like something an insanely wealthy trial lawyer would do.
Seriously, these millionaires like to bitch and moan about how we’re not doing enough for the poor, but they’re always digging in everybody’s pocket but their own when it comes time to pay the piper.
Or in Edwards’ case, pay off his mistress.
Tax dollars, campaign dollars, you name it … as long as somebody else is picking up the tab – which is pretty much the liberal M.O. right on down the line.
Of all the Democratic candidates for president last year, we loathed Edwards the most.
Not because he was the biggest hypocrite – which he obviously turned out to be – but because he was the most liberal (we thought).
Now we discover that Barack Obama’s White House makes Edwards’ campaign look like the friggin’ Club for Growth.
Oh well, like we said, what a difference a year makes …
The good news is that no matter what happens with the feds, at least one leftist hypocrite is taking his televangelist-lookin’ ass on a permanent vacation to Irreleventville, USA.
