Trouble In The Park
The incoming Superintendent of Hampton County School District 2 has been arrested for “soliciting an immoral act” in a public park in Anderson County.
Gary L. Burgess, Sr. – a longtime political ally of House Ways & Means Chairman Dan Cooper – has confirmed his arrest to local media, but neither he nor the cops are discussing the nature of the “immoral act.” Prior to accepting the position in Hampton, Burgess was forced out of his job as superintendent of Anderson County School District 4 for allegedly intimidating a school nurse.
And while Anderson County’s definition of morality is certainly up for discussion, local sources tell us that the sheer depravity of the dirty deeds (both homo and hetero) that go down at Darwin Wright Park would literally make your skin crawl.
A secluded, 27-acre park on a peninsula overlooking Lake Hartwell, the picnic shelters at Darwin Wright reportedly are (or were) a destination of choice for all manner of illicit rendezvous.
Our sources also tell us that Burgess isn’t the only local official who has arranged late-night meetings at the park, and that cops are viewing his arrest as an opportunity to expose (literally) numerous other indiscretions.
From The Tin Foil Hat Times (a.k.a. Anderson Independent-Mail):
An Anderson Police Department report said Burgess was standing near the lake in a wooded section of the park when he began a conversation with an officer who had observed him. The report said the officer “has knowledge that immoral acts occur at this location.”
“During the conversation Burgess solicited an immoral act,” according to the report. He was arrested and taken to jail, and his car was towed away.
He was released from custody Wednesday, Anderson City Jail officials said. They said they couldn’t comment on whether Burgess was required to post bond.Burgess, a Pendleton resident, was superintendent of Pendleton-based Anderson School District 4 until he retired after a controversy in which a school nurse accused him of intimidation.
In Hampton County, school board member Myrtle Sumter said Thursday evening that she had just heard about the arrest.
“I’m shocked and disappointed,” she said. “I’m out of town, and I’m getting calls. I am completely knocked off my feet.”
Hmmm … we’re going to go out on a limb here and guess that the “immoral act” had something to do with someone’s penis.
Just reading the tea leaves, you know.
More importantly, though, what the hell was Hampton County thinking?
Hiring a guy who was forced out of his last job over an “intimidation” charge? Come on …
After his last run-in, Burgess should have been banned from ever coming within 1,000 yards of a public school – and yet he was going to be put in charge of an entire public school district?
Amazing what these public school educrats will overlook in their own backyards while they bitch about the “lack of accountability” in private, parochial or charter schools.
Also, stay tuned as we continue to hear from our sources up in Anderson.
We’ve written about the crazy local governance up there in the past (here and here), but this could be the beginning of a much bigger story if what we’re being told is true.

Have you seen the former Superintendents in Hampton County? Have you seen who runs most of the school districts in the rural parts of our state. Burgess is head and shoulder’s above these people. He still has an IQ of less than 100, and obviously likes men.
Sick!

Sic: Isn’t this the county that Jean Toal blew off a few months ago when they re-dedicated their courthouse? Said she had accidentally overbooked her schedule or something like that?

Totally unnamed reliable dust bunnies under sic(k) willie’s bed have told BIN News that according to totally reliable unnamed Google view photos that sic(k) willie may have been in that park at that time with an unnamed male companion.
So, sic(k) willie. Can you confirm or deny that you were his target?

WHAT!? This city didn’t have a chance or a case against this man. The evidence in todays court clearly proved that he was set up by the arresting officer who reported that he was the arresting officer in the report but testified that he was not the arresting officer. What a bunch of idiots! No wonder he was found not guilty only after 45min. of diliberation. I pity the people who assumed that this man was guilty simply because these so called police officers simply said that this act happened. We all know that there are a lot of “police officers” that should be the ones in jail. Many of them are the ones acting immorally.
What in the world?
