Bedingfield To Kick Off FITS Radio

We just got a press release from … well, us.

Actually, somebody forwarded it to us from Pitch Engine, which is a service we apparently use whenever we’ve got news.

Here it is:

FITSNews, South Carolina’s biggest political website, today announced it is launching a new, radio program entitled “FACE-OFF with FITS.” This thirty-minute, online web radio format will debut Sunday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. at www.fitsnews.com/live.

“Web radio is the next frontier for new media,” said Will Folks (a.k.a. “Sic Willie”), founding editor of FITSNews. “People are tired of sanitized news and partisan noise. They want something real, and that’s what we’re going to give them.”

“FACE-OFF with FITS” will offer insight on today’s pressing political issues, with unfiltered, uncensored thoughts and observations directly from Folks and key lawmakers and opinion shapers in South Carolina and beyond. Listeners will also be able to call in and ask questions live during each broadcast.

Kicking off the “FACE-OFF with FITS” franchise will be S.C. Rep. Eric Bedingfield (R-Greenville). Discussion topics will likely include his sponsorship of a bill to protect S.C. workers’ right to a secret ballot, as well as this year’s parental choice legislation.

“I’ve done plenty of Internet radio but Will’s show is going to be something else,” Bedingfield said.

Folks has extensive radio experience and was a regular guest on Andy Thomas’ “Inside the Bubble” political talk show for several years.

He also appeared on dozens of radio programs in his capacity as spokesman to Gov. Mark Sanford from 2001-05.

Folks is president of Viewpolitik, LLC, a South Carolina-based political consulting and public relations firm. Prior to assuming media relations for the gubernatorial campaign of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford in 2001, Folks was a professional bass guitar player.

Folks graduated with a B.A. in History and Philosophy and received his Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina.

Each week listeners may listen live by visiting www.fitsnews.com/live. FITSNews will archive programs at www.fitsnews.com/radio.

Also, sign up to receive FITS News Releases (including announcements of upcoming radio guests) here: www.fitsnews.com/make-contact.

History and Philosophy, eh? A Master’s degree you say?

Actually, aside from the irrelevant info about Sic Willie’s educational background, the rest of the release is pretty good – if we do say so ourselves.

Plus, Eric Bedingfield is just one of those elected officials you can sit down and drink a beer with. In fact, we may actually do that, although our founding editor would have to make it an O’Douls.

Look forward to everybody tuning in Sunday night at 6:30 p.m., right here on FITS!

Wait a minute….”People are tired of sanitized news and partisan noise.” You’re telling me there won’t be any partisan noise coming out of this? Looks to me like the credibility is shot right off the bat just with the “press” release.

Reliable dust bunnies under sic(k) willie’s bed tell us Bedingfield will use this forum to announce his new Legislative Caucus:

    Voucher Scams are Us!

Eric is a serial voucher pimp. No surprise.

The only people listening will be a few of Howie’s carpetbuggers and the few people still gullible enough to think sic(k) willie is honest.
