Christina Applegate (a.k.a. Veronica Corningstone) is this year’s most beautiful person, according to People magazine – the people who apparently get to decide that sort of thing.
Never mind that “beautiful” has become a term with little correlation to “sexy,” which is why Angelina, Halle, Salma or Megan Fox isn’t at the top of this list.
You have to read Esquire for that.
Anyway, we have to say Applegate is totally undeserving of the “beautiful” knock – if beautiful is indeed meant to imply an absence of sexiness.
She’s sexy as hell, people – as any woman capable of capturing the heart (and inducing the embarassingly-public erection) of one Ron Burgandy must necessarily be.
Applegate had a very public battle with breast cancer last year, and while we’re not going to effusively pile on the sympathy and annoy you with a bunch of “class and dignity” talk, she is a survivor of a terrible disease and by all accounts she handled herself well throughout the ordeal.
She also dates a bass player, people. A Dutch bass player. Swoon.
You can read more about Applegate’s honor over at People, and her interview is actually a pretty enjoyable read.
Good for her on this honor … and thanks to her for “bringing beautiful back” where it belongs (i.e. sexy).
