It’s been a week since the news broke that California Senator Diane Feinstein (D-California) was working to pump $25 billion into a government entity that just last year awarded a lucrative contract to the firm run by her husband.

We didn’t cover this at the time because we figured it was just another “pay-to-play” scandal in Washington D.C., a city where the ruling class regularly makes us pay for its own enrichment.

And let’s face it – if you had to write about every “pay-to-play” scheme in our nation’s capital, you’d never get to write about anything else.

But Feinstein’s scandal – like Feinstein herself – is especially hideous.

First of all, the FDIC isn’t supposed to get taxpayer subsidies – it’s supposed to operate on insurance payments from banks.

Second, Feinstein isn’t even on the committee that has FDIC oversight.

Third, ask anybody and they’ll tell you the deal CB Richard Ellis got is a joke, with the company set to receive commissions that are dramatically higher than industry norms.

This scam is so obvious it’s insulting.

Feinstein is trying to steer money into her husband’s coffers – plain and simple – sort of like she used to do for years back when she was doling out defense contracts to companies her husband ran.

It’s sickening … but most sickening is the MSM silence, and the silence of “The One.”
