Sanford To Visit Horry County
Gov. Mark Sanford will travel to Horry County, S.C. to visit areas affected by a fire that continues to burn and is forecast to intensify before firefighters are able to get it under control.
Fortunately, the fire is being pushed inland away from the Grand Strand’s most heavily-populated areas. Also, the Intracoastal Waterway has served as a “fire buffer” to keep flames from spreading to Myrtle Beach’s tourist center.
Sanford will meet with local first responders before holding a media availability Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at a Forestry Command post in Conway, S.C.
Meanwhile, earlier today a man was ticketed for failing to notify the S.C. Forestry Commission about an outdoor burn that spread to a neighbor’s property, although it is unclear whether that incident is what set off the massive blaze that has destroyed at least 100 homes and 15,000 acres of land.
Obviously, they haven’t released the man’s name.

Im sure the firefighters in Horry are thrilled knowing that their salaries can be cut….while the judges and other state programs are imune…
But hey….at least we might not be in as much debt so who needs that much salary anyway?
