USC Is Not “In The Game”
The latest, greatest football video game will be promoted with a USC player – just not our USC.
Former University of Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez will be promoting the PSP version of EA Sports NCAA Football 10, which at this point has to be the most hyped video game in history.
Seriously, check out its web site. That’s Erin Andrews on there … f’real.
For those of you not fluent in hip (or hype), PSP is “Play Station Portable,” a hand-held gaming platform that’s moved about 50 million units worldwide over the past five years. “EA” is Electronic Arts, a Canadian-based company that dominates the sports gaming marketplace.
Put ‘em together and you have many, many unhappy marriages.
In addition to Sanchez, former Utah quarterback Brian Johnson is promoting the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) game, while former Texas linebacker Brian Orakpo is on the Playstation 2 (PS2) box.
The XBox 360 cover boy will be unveiled later this week – with the smart money on former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford.
Where is the regular XBox version of the game? Uhh … yeah, not so much. They haven’t made “regular” XBox games for NCAA in two years, a sore subject with our founding editor, who as recently as two years ago was still playing Tecmo Bowl …
Really … that’s him in the purple going long.
Anyway, for those of you who want less video game talky-talky and more Erin Andrews, here’s a pic from our bud Travis Bell of Sideline Carolina …
