The politically inbred public college system is hardly a “free market.”

You’ve named the paper wrong: it’s “DER STAAT!” Brad Warthen is the “brave liberal” who, for years, has stuck up for Lindsey Graham and the omnipotent corporate fascism that has driven a stake into the economy. Instead of speaking “truth to power” Warthen has spoken “pragmatism to fascism.” Essentially, Brad thinks that if the government and their corporate whoremongers want it, it must be okey-dokey.

Warthen’s about as socialist as the “National Socialists” of 1930s Germany, that is to say, he is indeed socialist as the progressives and such were in early 20th century America.

These socialists are the vampires that can’t give up capitalist blood so they’ll keep the half dead corporations chained near their coffins and bleed them dry to fund their pet projects and their campaigns to keep themselves in power. The zombie corporations don’t mind since the elites at the top of the financial food chain are themselves rewarded with money and power (including the political type of power).

Unfortunately, both the vampires and zombies are going to feed off the taxpayers’ sweat in the end. Our sweat in the form of money and property is going to be confiscated through inflation and taxes to feed these beasts who love us about as much and for the same reasons as a farmer loves his mules–for as long as they stay in harness and keep working.

You’re right, Sic Willie: the South Carolina Elitists’ Employment Service finding a job for Warthen is clearly a payoff. I’m glad that, while at USC, Warthen won’t have a newspaper to propagandize with. Thankfully, we won’t have to hear that giant sucking sound in the air over Columbia every time Lindsey Graham or some other moderate fascist gets in trouble with the electorate and Warthen writes an editorial defending the buffoon.

James, I loved my a** off the other morning at a gas station, I was checking out and a guy walked up behind me, put down 50 cents for a paper and started to walk off until the clerk told him it was 75 cents. he stated ” screw that, the state is not worth that much”, took his 50 cents back and left.

What’s the story here? FITS you been writing about Warthen like you have penis envy. So, let’s say the guy makes the 300K you “…go out on a limb and guess…” he’ll make? What’s the rub? If he can get it, isn’t that the way the free market works? Or is FITS the new La Socialista? “Unfair. Imbalanced,” is a convenient cover for “We can say whatever we want to say,” because like the used car commercials, so long as we disclose the fine print, we’re covered.

Brad is prepping communications on the upcoming tuition and fee increases at USC – you know the drill: “to stave off cutting programs critical to the USC mission…blah blah blah….armagedon is here…blah blah blah….we feel your pain….blah blah blah…..”

On the more itonic side – oh this is grand – Brad will actually have an income stream whereas La Socialista will not – only fukin inbred morons would now spend 75 cents to buy that worthless paper.
