Did we have a roll call vote when SCEIS passed the General Assembly. It would be interesting to know is former Ways and Means Chair Harrell was an advocate or Treasurer Converse Chellis (at that time a state rep).

"But that’s just the problem with a lack of independent oversight - there is no Orkin Man to call."

Heckfire Will, we don't need an Orkin Man. They should just call Converse Chellis in the Treasurer's office. According to his Post and Courier op ed in this morning's Post and Courier, he's fixed our debt problem. We no longer have a debt problem. "It's manageable" and therefore Gov Sanford should not hesitate to take the stimulus funds, says Chellis. Heck Will, if that's true, we should ask President Obama for another free money TARP BAILOUT FOR SC. This is a very interesting opinion piece coming from such a strong conservative who consistently votes on Budget and Control w/fellow staunch conservatives Rep Harrell and Sen Leatherman. Heck if we're in that great shape, General McConnel can probably persuade the King of Pork, Congressman Brown for another earmark to expand Clemson's Hunley department in Charleston. After all, it's free federal money. Doggone it Will, Gov Sanford's just an old "stick in the mud".
