Happy 420

Call it the “Stoner Holiday.”

Christians have Christmas and Easter. Bureaucrats have tax day. Mike Tyson has Boxing Day.

Pot smokers? They have 420 – i.e. today … April 20.

And while we gave up “the stickiest of the icky” over a decade ago (lamentably), we remain huge proponents of its legalization.

Why?

Why not?

Last time we checked, it made people mellow and cats able to tell time.

Wait … never mind that last part.

Oh, and it’s called 420 because that is (or was) the police dispatch code for smoking dope. It’s not cop radio, penal code or the number of active chemicals in the weed, as is commonly believed.

There’s also a 4:20 Superstore in North Myrtle Beach, if you’re into that sort of thing.
