Why Is This Doing It For Us?
Ordinarily the juxtaposition of Drew Barrymore, paleness and a flapper outfit would cause – not cure – impotence, but there’s something about the convergence of these three things (which in isolation are exceedingly unattractive) that’s doing it for us today.
Maybe it’s the starfish in her hair, who knows?
Maybe we’ve watched The Untouchables a few too many times this week and are just fetishing.
Maybe, maybe …
Anyhoo, we lacked the effort to finish that last sentence, obviously, so we’ll get right down to telling you that Barrymore and her sun-resistant skin got dolled up 1920’s style for the premiere of her new movie “Grey Gardens,” which chronicles the story of two eclectic Kennedy relatives who let their million-dollar mansion in the Hamptons fall apart (literally) before Jackie O stepped in and fixed the place up.
That crazy Jackie.
It’s a triumphant story of the human spirit … or something like that.
The movie features a lot of annoyingly fake Boston accents and will no doubt go straight to Lifetime, where it will be accompanied by ads for hand soap and disinfectant. Maybe the Shamwow if it’s lucky.
No really … the only thing missing here is Meredith Baxter Birney and bad editing.
Still, though. Drew pulls this look off nicely … timelessly, in fact.

I have always thought Drew was sexy…ever since Charlie’s Angels. Not as sexy as the asian chick in that movie, but sexy.
