Out here in Irmo, we like to say that God broke the mold when He made Kelly Payne!

We're grateful for her involvement in the community, as well as her work to inspire young people to become involved. If only more public school educators were as involved as she is outside the classroom...

I also should mention that, through the diversity of speakers she has had address her civics class(from Henry McMaster and the S.C. Policy Council to Gilda Cobb-Hunter, Jim Rex and Harry Ott), she is teaching students a valuable lessons about civil discourse and respecting those who hold divergent views.

I really enjoyed the Fair Tax Rally. The speeches from everyone were awesome!!
This was a chance of a lifetime opportunity for a young person to meet a former presidential candidate and a well-known radio talk show host and author in one night.
My class has been studying taxation, deficit spending, the stimulus/bailout issues involving the 10th Amendment, etc. I was able to follow what the speakers were discussing because of that. However, I was disappointed in how the mainstream media covered this event. WIS and ABC The State Paper were biased in their reporting. In my opinion they made the people who were in attendance look like right wing extremists. This is why people need to keep themselves informed on what is going on in the world around them and don’t rely on just one perspective. It preserves what democracy we have left.

But seriously, lets give a big thanks to God who works in the most mysterious of ways for this event to have occured. :)

I'm so proud to be one of the "It Kids" and to have experienced Ms. Payne's enthusiasm concerning current local, national, and international political and cultural news. Her class really has changed my perspective of news and has made me more interested. By becoming more interested, it is evident I have become more involved as i joined her to this rally.

I can honestly say that the time spent being active was well worth it.
Thank you Ms. Payne and you too Sic, for featuring us and giving us such a helpful boost on our road to becoming more well-known.

I am a former member of the interact/rotary club.. I am also a former student of Ms. Payne which is a dear friend of mine. I am a college student at Midlands Technical College and I keep up with the club and events to this day. I am also huge on politics and what goes on around the country because i feel as a young adult that we are the future of the world today. My dad always says we are the Tomorrows Future. So why not start now? When we are young and fresh!!!
