We’re All Just A Bunch Of Nazis

swastika

We love Bill Clinton, black people and Jews. Oh, and we’ve consistently stood up against gay-bashing and political pandering on the immigration issue.

We also enjoy making fun of racists, rednecks and inbreds – often as part of our coverage of the S.C. General Assembly.

Still, according to the Department of Homeland Security, we could be “right-wing extremists.”

No really.

From the Commie News Network:

Right-wing extremist groups may be using the recession and the election of the nation’s first African-American president to recruit members, a Department of Homeland Security report contends.

Though the nine-page report said it has “no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence,” it said real-estate foreclosures, unemployment and tight credit “could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past.”

The report, prepared in coordination with the FBI and published April 7, was distributed to federal, state and local law enforcement officials under the title “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.”

Here’s the kicker …

The election of President Obama is cited as a key recruitment tool. “Many right-wing extremists are antagonistic toward the new presidential administration and its perceived stance on a range of issues, including immigration and citizenship, the expansion of social programs to minorities, and restrictions on firearm ownership and use,” the report said.

Pay close attention, people … because this is going to be the new battleground.

Bottom line, if you disagree with Obama on immigration, government growth and gun ownership, you automatically hate minorities and deserve to be put on some right-wing extremist “watch list.”

That’s the way government fights – lumping people under a label and stereotyping them, which is kind of ironic when you think about it.

Do we want to overthrow the government? Sure, why not.

But that has nothing to do with hating anyone’s skin color, religion or sexual orientation.

We feel that way because government does a crappy job at the few things it’s supposed to do and keeps trying to do tons of things it shouldn’t.

Oh, and that Swastika picture above is from the U.S. Navy barracks in Coronado, California. After a left-wing revolt, government spent $600,000 on “landscaping” and reflective panels to make it look less like a Swastika from the air.

Nice … of course, no word yet on whether the Navy got put on the “right-wing extremist watch list.”

I can not believe you are whining about this. During the past eight years ANY criticism of the administration’s policies was characterized as “hating America”, “not supporting the troops” or other thin skinned nonsense. Now, republican lawmakers and pundits are actively calling for an overthrow of the federal government (Beck, Bachman, et al) and the ignorant yokels are burying themselves in debt to buy guns and ammo. In hindsight, who was the real threat to America? The idiot runnning the country for the past eight years, that’s who!

We’re with ya on that! Twelve years of Reagan followed by sixteen years of “Slick” Willie would’ve been fine with us!

    The Bushes have ruined Republicanism!

The report was ordered a year ago by the Bush Administration. And considering there have been two mass murders by paranoid nuts on the right – one involving a conspiracy theorist killing several cops and another where a guy walks into a Unitarian Church and executes people for their assumed party membership – I’d say this is worth thinking about. If it had been a left wing crazy shooting up a Baptist Church, the posters on this board would be screaming for suspension of habeas corpus. Oh right, they already suspended that right in the Bush Administration. Besides, it’s just a report, unfold the tin foil hat.

These types of reports are done all the time. When the economy tanks, membership in hate groups rises. That has happened throughout history. Seems that there is a part of the population that needs to find a “boogie man” to blame for their lot in life and the traditional hate groups are qick to provide just that. When the economy was on fire, the KKK had the lowest membership in decades.
