Timmy, there are two components to the stimulus:
A. Mo' gov'ment spending - most not hitting the expenditure cycle until 2010 in the hopes the economy won't remain in the shitter for all those Democratic seats in red districts in 2010.

B. Tax cuts. Nice hedge by President Obama here - knowing the guv'ment spending piece will be a net drag on the economy.

I'm pretty sure the protests are over the first component of the stimulus - let's call a spade a spade - it's generational theft.

I for one thought it was brilliant how candidate Obama outflanked Johnny Mac on the tax cut issue (not that getting to the right of Johhny Mac was ever that tough).

That he actually kept his promise (albeit a temporary tax cut) will stimulate my personal balance sheet.

Footsy, what doesn't make sense? They billed this teabagging as a protest against the stimulus. The stimulus gave most of those people out there today a tax cut. So if you're protesting the stimulus, why aren't you willing to give the money back?

Obama's gonna be in for a least 8 years -when you got a criminal organization like ACORN stumping for you, there's literally no way you can lose!

timmy - you're post makes no sense. Care to try again or has the in-breeding decminated you're ability to logic through such a simple concept.

Folks are protesting HIGH taxes - why would you think we would return a tax cut?

oh, and timmy, the stimulus tax cut is a pittance compared to the "oversights" on my return...

well...its only a revolution if something comes out of this. If nothing gets done then it was a waste. True revolution makes things happen, it makes things change. The question is ..now what? What to do with the momentum? If politicians do nothing..and I am willing to put money on it that they wont..then what do the people do to escalate? So called G3 anarchists in England didn't do anything despite all their big bad talk, I watched a slap chop infomercial instead.. Its not a revolution when government tells you when, how, where, and for how long your "allowed" to protest..its patronizing and stupid. The Columbia protest was a perfect example of this..two hours? Weak. It will take a movement much more massive than this..to walk on Washington and make real sacrifices for the movement to get the message across. Change is only made when there is a threat to the status quo, its just the way it is. No "revolution" in America or the world happened without some sort of viable threat to the status quo, whether it be through vote, massive walkout, march on D.C. or violence. There is no threat right now. My prediction is that Obama will do what he is gonna do for the next four years and then be voted out, but will it be too late by then? Columbia and S.C. isnt really known for political activism but the crowd was nice today. Lets hope something comes out of this.Go back to your lattes.

I'm not totally on board with this Tea Party deal. I find the protests to be a little... unfocuse and kind of Glenn Beckish (conspiracy monger friendly.) Also, you totally lost me at when folks start dropping the national sales tax idea.

BUT, it is an impressive turnout with thousands more folks participating than the recent protests against Sanford that got so much burn in local media outlets.
