Karen's a business woman who will keep her eye on the bottom line, raise the money it takes to win and deliver the conservative message that resonates across the state. She will keep the SCGOP out of the red. Karen was on track to win the chairman's race for all of these reasons. Remember, she actually has given her own money to Republican candidates for office across South Carolina. This is a stark contrast to Kevin Hall who had only passed along Nelson Mullins checks to Republican candidates - the same Nelson Mullins checks that went to Democrats.

Interesting that South Carolina may very well have two woman running the state's major political parties. But the similarities b/t Karen Floyd and Carol Fowler don't end there:
Both are friends with Inez Tenenbaum
Both voted for Bill Clinton
Both wrote fat checks to Fritz Hollings
Both like to attend political fundraisers in DC with Dick Harpootlian

FITS:
All of this has been known for a long time.
Why is it being discussed now?
It would appear that Ms. Floyd has it all wrapped up.
Is there another candidate soon to emerge?

Run, Willie, Run. Maybe they will let you use the big black Suburban for Mrs. Sic, Little Shorty and Little Miss Sic-a-lese. You will need it for all the plastic that is necessary for carrying little ones around. Not to mention the soccer field on which you will spend several hours a week next fall with Shorty, whether you admit it now or not.

pretty safe to say that the party will be out of debt by the time the new chair takes over. word on the street is that scott farmer and the graham team allegedly left party hanging with huge bill after general election. this is even after scott farmer and lindsey graham had been able to install lindsey graham's college roommate warren mowry as victory executive director and perpetually unemployed shell suber as political director. farmer, mowry and suber went on to hire the least capable group of victory field organizers the state's ever seen (especially on the coast and grand strand - johnnie bellamy comes to mind). farmer and graham's alleged decision to saddle the party with monumental debt was not surprising. yet it was still very disappointing. moral of this story: don't trust scott farmer or the graham team. there's a reason farmer's earned a reputation as one of the least liked political operatives around. it's all about them - not anyone else.

How in the hell can Katon Dawson spend 100,000 of the party's money in an effort to be elected national chairman.

That shows you what guttless weasels we have in the GOP. In the real world, outside of the SCGOP...there would be hell to pay.

Too bad she can't get back all that money she gave in the 1990's to Bill Clinton, Fritz Hollings, Inez Tenenbaum, Glenn Reese, and the DSCC.
