barker-raises

Clemson University’s Faculty Senate is voting on a resolution tomorrow that would sharply condemn the outlandish starting salaries and pay raises for top brass that the fattest of Tiger Fat Cats have been doling out lately.

In case you’ve been living under a rock lately (or relying on the mainstream media for your news), this article should bring you up to speed.

Basically, “the man” has been sticking it to the masses up at Clemson – awarding massive salary increases while faculty members have been asked to do more with “less.”

Of course, as we’ve noted, it’s not really “less” – these “higher educrats” just want you think that it is.

Nonetheless, the draft resolution – a copy of which was obtained by FITS – states that Clemson President James Barker and his cronies have “failed to adequately justify and explain these disproportionate starting salaries and raises especially at the highest levels of the Clemson administration.”

True that.

Clemson’s conduct in these affairs has been nothing short of reprehensible – the embodiment of everything that’s wrong with state government in South Carolina.

“The Faculty Senate strongly disapproves of the lack of thought and consideration the Clemson Administration has given to the effects of these disproportionate raises on the morale of the institution,” the resolution continues.

Good for the Clemson faculty. We hope they pass this resolution, although we’re sure that the Tiger brass is lobbying hard to defeat it.

That’s because resolution also includes recommendations – one of which would give the Faculty Senate a seat at the table in determining who gets what raises in the future.

Certainly that’s not a power Barker’s bureaucrat army wants to share with a bunch of tweed-wearing academics, right?

Thanks for bringing this greedy, non caring, arrogant and egomanical Administration to the forefront again. They’ve hidden behind Sanford, Michael Jackson’s death andthe antics of Mr. Wilson too long.

Mr. Barker and Circle have done much more direct damage to many more people than the Govn’r. While the Governor has shamed the State of South Carolina, he has not maliciously held funds from his employees, protected his henchmen and vice versa from public view and scrutiny, ignored and has taken no action on harassment and discrimination and evaded every issue raised, with the help of his PR, with pat non sensical responses -

The people of Clemson deserve more – they need a leader, not a self serving cold blooded over ambitious politician that has no conscience in his actions toward the Clemson employees.

He, the Staff and BOT have told so many outlandish lies, watched and approved such egregious behavior by their first line subordinates, VP’s and ASSOCIATE VP – it is commonplace to expect no apology, expect no truth, expect no facts – but to know that all that is coming are evasion of the truth and presentations of muddled data.
