We’ve been so busy pulling arrows out of our backside these days from mainstream media defenders like Bob McAlister that we’ve been negligent in chronicling the ongoing crusade that La Socialista (a.k.a. The State newspaper) is still undertaking against the payday lending industry in South Carolina.
Seriously, we haven’t written a single payday lending-related article all year. In fact, we’d practically forgotten all about the issue until La Socialista starting “re-ramping” its efforts to get the industry banned … you know, because it’s “low-hanging fruit” for the sanctimonious MSM that McAlister loves so dearly.
Well, as much as payday lenders, cigarette companies and gambling purveyors are representative of industries that everybody loves to hate, we still happen to believe in market principles and personal responsibility around here.
We know, we know … it’s lonely ideological ground lately in this country, but somebody has to stand up for the things America was founded on.
And with credit markets like they are, why are the 10-15% of people who can’t stop themselves from racking up payday debt going to be allowed to ruin things for the 85-90% of people who use the industry when there’s simply no other option?
Anyway, Mr. Warren Bolton over at La Socialista got our druthers up the other day with his latest installment of canned socialist nonsense, to which we will be offering a particularly tart response.
Check back Monday for the story …

Mcalister is on the payday payroll, so he should agree with you. guess it depends on who is writing checks as to whether the State is good or bad.

The State is neither good nor bad. They are simply biased beyond all measure of comprehension.
And if you understood anything about payday loans, then you’d understand this as well.

I understand that people need to be responsible for their actions. It’s time to roll back the clock and quit making laws that restrict free markets from operating. If people understood that every time we make a law protecting people from themselves we also give government more power to interfere in all aspects of our lives. Just remember, at first the seatbelt law was a request, then a secondary offense and now a primary offense…..giving the government power is like giving an addict unrestricted access to the drug of their choice….society as a whole loses.
