SC GOP Bloggers Loserin’ It Up
If you enjoy reading arguments you could care less about between people you’ve never heard of, then boy do we have a story for you.
It involves a “Twitter War” that apparently went down earlier this week between two rival Republican blogger gangs, operatives who are (amazingly) employed by two of the top GOP political consulting firms in the state.
In case you were wondering, this is what Republican operatives in South Carolina do all day.
No really, all day.
Anyway, from operative Adam Piper’s play-by-play of the “Twitter War” over on Palmetto Scoop:
… like any good bar room brawl, this audio-visual club cage match began with essentially a sucker punch of a Tweet from Wes Wolfe — a freelance journalist who used to write for the Free-Times who has now become the blogland mouthpiece for First Tuesday Strategies, Warren Tompkins and Terry Sullivan.
Wolfe responded to (Scoop Editor Adam) Fogle by saying, “Yeah, you guys would not know anything about winning races, right? Maybe you should get Piper off Twitter for five minutes.”
The gloves then came flying off as Fogle retorted, “Terry Sullivan called. He said you left your lipstick at his place.”
That comment was greeted with much Twitter laughter and a re-Tweet from CNN producer and a former temporary South Carolina resident Peter Hamby, who used Fogle’s Tweet to espouse why he misses South Carolina politics.
Then came Wolfe’s next bit. “Hey, nobody likes a loser, big boy,” Wolfe wrote. “Maybe you guys should double down and get back to work.”
Sucker punch of a Tweet? You know, there’s nothing like Republicans “leveraging new technology,” is there?
Of course while we were contemplating whether or not a Tweet-delivered sucker punch would hurt, another of the Republican bloglosers, SC Hotline’s Jeffrey Sewell, sent us one of his biting, insta-bipolar messages …
“have a nice day you jack off weewee lover … What does it feel like to have no friends? There is a cure for this, please call …”
Republican operatives, you gotta love ‘em …

Sewell sent me a very similar email. He must be lonely and looking for some friends.

Will –
You could have at least added that the pettiness of the blogs/tweets these days was the actual point of my post…or at least added the following excerpt:
A casual observer would almost think that South Carolina’s political operative class was nothing more than a group of folks who shared the smarts and sophomoric sophistication of Anchorman’s most erudite reporter Brick Tamland, who famously invited the future Mrs. Ron Burgandy, Veronica Corningstone, to “the pants party.”
Hope all is well,
Adam

Here is how SC Hotline is featuring one of the blogs on his conservative menu:
PNN [AKA Weswee Donahue TTS] Liberal
I can see how this stuff really WOULD take up one’s *entire* day.

This is nothing new. While the “conservsative” blogs revel in adolescent pettiness, Micah Snead over at Indigo Journal is having his questions answered by the POTUS. Tells you a lot.

Is there anyone who Jeffrey’s not sending vulgar emails to these days? I’ve been getting them weekly.

You all look like a bunch of monkey’s %&*!ing a football out there. Grow up. No wonder why we are slowly losing our majority in this state. The dems have messed up so bad we should be able to easily pickup the 5th CD and a number of house and senate seats. If you all weren’t so busy acting like idiot flunkies then perhaps we could create some real change in this state. Sic, keep exposing these morons for what they are.
Thanks.
