New Website: Tom Davis

Why do we so frequently (and shamelessly) promote Lowcountry State Sen. Tom Davis?

Well, contrary to the flood of allegations leveled by the real bought-and-paid-for political blogs in this state, we don’t do it for money. In fact, we have no professional affiliation with any politician in this state, period.

We pimp Tom Davis not only because he is a dear friend, he’s somebody who can actually put “Individual liberty, economic freedom, future prosperity” on the banner of his new website and not get struck by lightning.

In a political world full of cheap imitators, Tom Davis is the real Slim Shady.

As he says in a post from his new blog, the Reform Ledger:

I believe unequivocally and unapologetically that job creation, capital investment and higher income levels come directly from the private sector taking the lead. The best thing government can do is stay limited to certain well-defined core functions — and then stay out of the way.

Damn straight.

Of course, unlike most other “Republican” elected officials in Columbia, Davis doesn’t just say this – he actually votes that way, too.

Tom, who refuses to take PAC money, simply isn’t beholden to the “way it’s always been done.”

He isn’t bound by the same set of narrow special interests that have driven the debate in Columbia for decades and have, in the process, driven South Carolina into the ground on important issues like job creations, academic achievement and government reform.

He answers to a higher calling – his constituents and future generations of South Carolinians who are desperate for somebody, anybody to start fighting for their interests for a change.

That’s why we “unequivocally and unapologetically” support Tom Davis, and it’s why we’ll keep doing so no matter what lies the status quo naysayers want to spread about him or us.

Does this new website presage something?

Nice website. He’s clearly a comer.

This is a nice site, though it could be a little more interactive. Is Davis running for something?

By fitsnews on March 26th, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Wow, Pat. That’s quite a comment coming from someone so androgynously-named.

Give Jean Toal our best.

And of course there’s no connection between this site and his being designed by The Mace Group.

An incestuous bunch, you politicos.

At least you’re keeping it local, unlike The Plagiarism Scoop and their DC designer.

Call me cynical, but I don’t think our legislature is going to change anytime soon. Do you think Davis would have any more luck moving them than Sanford has? No matter how right Sanford has been, it sure seems that the Republican controlled legislature has just ignored him and done what they want. It would seem to me that you need someone who is either going to get along with them and slightly nudge them into a more fiscally conservative path or someone who is really ready for an ideological battle over the future of the GOP. Sanford hasn’t wanted to get along with them (which I understand) but hasn’t been a particularly effective warrior either. Do you think Davis has the stomach for a fight? And if he decides to fight, is he politically savvy enough to win?

What about Senator Mike Rose and his website, http://www.senatormikerose.com ?

I thought you liked him too?

Snead,

We do public relations, marketing, web and design work. Wait til you see what I have up my sleeve for FITSNews… It’s gonna be sweet. I think my team does a pretty good job and I am always proud of the work we do. :)

By Crooner on March 26th, 2009 at 4:00 pm

Is that why you handed him the Santini Cup?

By Snead on March 26th, 2009 at 5:45 pm

Nancy, your sites look great. My point is the connection between Folks and Davis clearly extends beyond a simple bromance.

But I was wrong in assuming the two lovebirds went local for their web design. That’s unfortunate.

By Nancy on March 26th, 2009 at 7:18 pm

Actually, the team I assembled for this project was based in South Carolina. Not to mention my ties to the lowcountry… That counts as local right? ;)

Crooner-

Sort of like it was handed to you the year before?

A great looking site for a rock star Senator. Nancy’s team did a fantastic job here.

androgynously-named?

Take that up with my mother. And Jean and just knocked down a bottle of Johnny Walker. Sweet dude, ugh, lady. Speaking of ladies, easy to beat up, huh?

I believe our hierachy is going to hear us and is going to change pretty soon.
It takes lots of hard work to be heard.
But once the work is done, and the results are in the hands of the people of this state and stories get told out loud, well, sometimes wishes come true, right?
have faith.

isn’t most PAC money from the private sector?
