“Not Pussyfooting”
The first African-American State Senator in South Carolina history to endorse a universal parental choice bill got some major ink in today’s La Socialista (a.k.a. The State newspaper).
And surprisingly it wasn’t the scorched earth “hit piece” we were expecting.
Of course, that may have been due to the fact that Sen. Robert Ford (D-Charleston) dropped enough verbal bombs in the story to knock reporter Roddie Burris off of his typically reliable left-of-center footing.
Anyway, from the story:
“You’re damn right I’m hurting public education, because public education is hurting our kids,” Ford said.
As recently as last year, Ford opposed (choice legislation).
But South Carolina’s stubborn achievement gap — with black students trailing their white counterparts in state achievement testing, college entrance exam scores and graduation rates — changed his mind, he says.
“All of us have been defending the system,” Ford said. “It’s time to stop. I’m not pussyfooting with this anymore.”
Wow.
“Not pussyfooting.”
That is, without question, the awesomest thing we’ve heard in politics like … ever. In fact, we’re seriously considering making buttons.
Amazingly, Robert Ford may be the greatest thing to happen to the parental choice movement because there is absolutely no way of knowing what’s going to come out of his mouth next.
In a political process that is painfully predictible and scripted, Sen. Ford is for real.

Damn right Ford is real. He probably won’t win, but he is real.
Now talk to me about those flabby mouthed republicans. Any of them actually believe what they say?

Yeah! I’m ALREADY ready to pull the governor lever, Senator Ford!
~~~
That “no way of knowing what’s going to come out of his mouth next” is what is so endearing about Sic Willie — don’t ever let them break your spirit!
Speaking of no pussyfooting, I wonder if Robert Ford knows of Robert Fripp.
So, Senator Ford sold his soul to the devil…
….uhh, sorry. Sold it to Howie’s voucher clowns.
Ford is crazy like a fox.
Which is different from being crazy as a sprayed roach.
Ford knows vouchers are dead.
Except in the minds of the voucher clowns who are still sucking on Howie’s money bag. Ford will use Howie, bask in the brief glow of free publicity, and spend Howie’s carpetbugger money.
But we all know vouchers are dead in S.C.
It means nothing.
