That was the reason the officers were pulled from working it. Wouldn't it be easier on taxpayer dollars just to hire a few security guards to work the parking garage? I guess that solution would be too simple. I am sure our legislature doesn't have anything better to discuss, like our state's current economic distress. Once again, the governor had failed in his job, this time to provide for the security of the State House. Since the Governor won't do it, the Assembly has to. All of the security checkpoints in the State House are left unguarded and all of the gates left up except for one, the one that guard the Governor's Office. It doesn't cost that much money to hire guards, the Governor is just being philosophical instead of being practical. Surprise, the two are almost never the same.
