It’s Not Just Five Points …

wh-fountain

As fountains go, we always thought one in front of the White House would be too hoity-toity to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit.

Not so.

The White House fountain – like the White House’s Occupant-in-Chief – has “gone green,” except in the fountain’s case it’s merely to honor St. Patrick’s Day, and to welcome the Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen.

The “Taoiseach,” as Cowen is known, was also claimed as kin by Obama – who people keep forgetting is biracial, not black.

From ABC’s “Political Punch” blog:

“My mother’s family can be traced back to Ireland,” President Obama said, “and it turns out that our first Irish ancestor came from the same county that Taoiseach once represented. So we may be cousins. We haven’t sorted that through yet. But even if blood we’re not related by culture and affinity…by friendship we are certainly related.”

Gawd. Vomit.

Also on the vomit front, one news outlet in Britain claimed the White House fountain “flowed like the color of Waterford grass,” prompting us to wonder exactly what they put in the water at Waterford.

Wait … green food coloring?
