Spring Break Stats
Each year in February, March and April, millions of drunk, horny college students descend on America’s beaches …
The result is typically plenty of Hills-style drama, sunburns, hangovers and regrettable hookups … but also millions of dollars to coastal economies.
Last year was America’s busiest Spring Break ever, and while travel officials are estimating a 10-20% drop in travel due to the flagging economy, our country’s annual boob and boozefest on the beach is still an economic winner.
This week, 1.8 million college students are on Spring Break (including 27,000 from USC). Next week, 2.1 million go on break (including 17,000 from Clemson).
All told, 6 million college students will get a week off between Feb. 16 and April 6 …
