We couldn’t stop laughing at Barack Obama’s press secretary getting all lathered up over the “incident” in the South China Sea yesterday.
What a joke.
The U.S. “expects” China to stop harrassing its ships? Really?
From the AP:
The Pentagon says five Chinese ships shadowed and maneuvered dangerously close to a U.S. Navy vessel in international waters.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday the United States will continue to operate in those international waters. And he says the Chinese must observe international law …
Or what?
What exactly are we going to do to them if they don’t “observe international law?”
Hmmmm … are we going to stop begging them to spend more of their $2 trillion surplus to purchase some of our $11 trillion debt?
Because judging from the recent concerns they’ve expressed about our inability to pay them back (remember Obama’s comment about trillion dollar deficits for “years to come”), it would appear they’re already doing that.
It’s called “collateral,” bitches. And America is going to need some soon.
Seriously, Yo-Bama … if you need to manufacture some international incident to reinforce your “commander in chief” cred, it’s probably not a wise idea to go after your bailout banker.
This just keeps going from bad to worse, though.
America is withdrawing from Iraq, negotiating with the Taliban and is seriously on the brink of turning whoever made those “bake sale for a bomber” bumper stickers into a modern-day prophet.
China?
They now hold $700 billion of our public debt – which means they are in a position to tell us to go f*ck ourselves such as they’ve never been in before.
Seriously, Yo-bama … go pick a fight with Trinidad or Tobago. Or Trinidad & Tobago, for that matter.
Right now it would seem China is a bit out of your league.

Hmm, as usual a well thought out position. The Chinese, the country that reaps almost all its economic power from trading with the US, is now prepared to pick a fight with its major benefactor. Ugh, sure, makes perfect sense.
In any event, I’m assuming you are what? 13? That’s the only way you could have forgotten about this incident:

Yeah, that’s the incident where the Bush Administration backed down without hesitation. What’s your explanation for that? The deficit?

I say let’s impose a 25% tax on all Chinese-manufactured goods! Use the taxes to retire the deficit. Let’s start us a trade war!
