It’s strange that this article does not mention how the GOP fought long and hard and wouldn’t budge until the $$$ Obama allocated for schools in the stimulus bill was removed – I heard no complaints from any of you at that point. It is not Obama who does not care for the children and their education – it’s the republicans like Sanford and Perry and the ones in Congress and the Senate who pretend that they are so very righteous but are more corrupt than anyone I can think of – it’s all a political game and you’re all falling for it. You ought to look to the people who are ruining your respective states and hold them accountable – Obama is one man – he is trying his best but each and every one of you have to take responsibility if you don’t hold your elected leaders accountable for doing what you need within your state – that includes procuring the funding necessary for the schools that your children attend.

Get real – it is in fact the worsening situation in terms of state and local revenue that is leading to school choice measures in other cities and states. A tax credit scheme means more money for the remaining students in public schools, and may be the only way to sustain or increase the current K-12 funding level.

The thinly veiled antisemitism is not a really convincing argument against choices for parents either.

And, again we point out that is not necessarily a reflection on your morals. If you have any. That famous quote from SNL still fits you like a glove.

You know the real problems facing public education in SC include poverty, wide spread latent racism (blatant here on your blog), the host of social ills that follow poverty and racism, and an inadequate and unfair funding system.

And everyone knows our Legislature has wasted brazillions of our tax dollars defending the shameful “minimally adequate” standard.

But you are still pimping Howie’s voucher scam. You and your “bud” over at the Voice for Voucher Scams. You both know vouchers would only leave those who need help the most even further behind. You both know vouchers would do nothing to address the real problems facing public education and children.

If you really want to help all children call your Representative and Senator, and tell them to amend the Constitution to require SC to provide a “high quality” education rather than a “minimally adequate” education.

But, if you just want to help a few children and leave those who need help the most even further behind, then keep pimping the voucher scam for Howie.

BTW, we know you know vouchers are dead in SC. So does Howie. And given the current economy they are really dead. Just ask Jakie. He’ll tell you.

i hate to say it, but i guess some things wont change.

unless we get somebody who actually cares for these kids education, proper funding, and parent-student involvement, this will likely end up being the same story next year.

but apparently nobody cares enough to obtain proper funding and get involved with the students and their parents. (and im not talking teachers. i mean federal involvement. i <3 teachers)
