Simply look at Knapp's positions in the last five years. Those positions have been converse to real small businesses. In the last five years, small businesses have called for tort reform and workers' comp reform. Knapp's group led the fight, with his TV Trial Lawyers, against true reform that would affect positive job creation.

When are people going to realize insurance companies are at the root of most of our problems. If they would actually honor the policies that small businesses, doctors, etc. purchased, then most "reform" legislation wouldn't be necessary.
Example, a carpenter gets hurt on the job, and it's not his fault. His boss files a workers' comp. claim, the insurance company takes weeks to process the claim, then denies it. Never mind that the hourly employed carpenter has been without a paycheck because his boss assumes the insurance carrier is taking care of his injured employee. In the meantime, the carpenter, with wife, kids, mortage, is without money. Let's not also forget that workers' comp only covers most of this guy's payceck, not all of it. So, what is the carpenter supposed to do, rely on the insurance company, which, more than likely, has a policy to deny claims initially because they are really about holding onto their cash as long as possible.
Of course he's going to seek representation. What most people don't know is that over 90% of workers' comp. cases do not involve claimant's attorneys.
Back to my original premise, the underlying problem, which is insurance companies. Ask a doctor how much money he made in the 80s or 90's versus now. Common refrain, they are reimbursed significantly less by insurance companies. We've got insurance company employees making health care decisions, not doctors.

Well, well, I'd say "A. Citizen" is better identified by "J. (as in jealous) Shmuck".

SCTLA and SCACA, besides the fact they no longer exist under those names, together don't have 1500 members. Even at 100% participation, that would be a minority of Frank's membership. But, there's no question they are small businesses. The majority are sole practitioners who have between 1 and 4 employees. They belonged at one time to the Chamber of Commerce before it came to represent Big Bidness. At least in the Columbia area the Realtors are all about stiffling competition and being sued by the FTC. The NFIB are a total joke. They exist only to parrot RNC talking points.

If Frank is putting in 20 hours a week on his radio show, so what? He still has time to tend to the legislature, particularly this session with their truncated sessions and shortened work weeks.

This is all about insurance companies wanting bigger profits and big bidness not wanting to be held accountable for their actions. folks is upset that a small bidness can haul a big bidness into court and be on equal footing before a jury. That REALLY upsets folks, because he knows from personal experience that juries hold people accountable for their actions. folks didn't want any part of a jury because he knew if he faced one, there was a good chance he was going to jail.

Frank Knapp does represent small business because he realizes small businesses are most likely to be sued by bigger businesses and their bank tower lawyers, not an individual. Frank must be hitting a nerve for the morally and intellectually bankrupt folks to commit all this time and energy to attacking him. With enemies like folks, Frank must be doing something right.
