Lil’ Consideration
Jeffrey Sewell, that crazy SC Hotline dude, says on the one hand that our little website could be making “a lot more money” by rolling with him (his “carrot”), but on the other hand he suggests that we need to “be careful” in criticizing him publicly (his “stick”).
Sewell – whose increasingly erratic behavior has many S.C. politicos concerned about his health – has also offered to remove certain articles from his website provided we remove certain articles from ours, a little quid pro quo that our founding editor has unilaterally rejected.
Additionally, Sewell has hinted strongly that undisclosed financial consideration is ours to be had – provided we refrain from writing anything negative about Spartanburg businesswoman Karen Floyd (we weren’t aware we had said a single bad word about her) and agree to publish material detrimental to the campaign of Columbia attorney Kevin Hall, who along with Floyd is running for Chairman of the SCGOP.
In fact, Sewell is “giving an exclusive to MSM” on behalf of Floyd’s campaign that he says will reveal everything he knows about Hall’s candidacy, which depending on the hour, could be sensational information that Sewell found hiding at the bottom of another glass of Guiness at the Liberty Taproom.
“We are still collecting info (on Hall),” Sewell wrote to us recently. “My hands are tied right now but will not be soon. If you don’t do it for me do it for your friend KKF. Please and thank you.”
Previously, Sewell was forced to pull an article posted on SC Hotline alleging that Hall was working with legendary RINO consultant J. Warren Tompkins.
Sewell has also accused Sic Willie of collaborating with Tompkins to “give Hall a platform.”
He has since pulled another inflammatory article posted on SC Hotline regarding that accusation.
Neither charge is true, obviously, but that hasn’t stopped Sewell from suggesting on multiple occasions that financial consideration could be made available to FITS should we play ball with his demands.
Sad, sad, sad.
Wanna know something, though? We’ve always liked Jeffrey Sewell.
When he’s not drunk off his ass, we think he’s a very likable, entertaining guy who occasionally stumbles upon ideologically-sound footing.
And obviously the fact that he fancies himself to be a “bigger deal” than he really is hardly makes him unique in this state’s political environment.
It’s easy to let things go to your head in this business, and the toxic mix of power, ego, alcohol, entitlement and loose morals that comes with the Columbia scene can be lethal to even a grounded person’s sense of perspective.
Hell, Sic Willie lived – and loved – that lifestyle for a long time before snapping back to reality a few years ago.
But Sewell truly appears to have gone off the deep end lately, running his mouth against anyone and everyone based on imaginary grudges and perceived slights that exist only in his own clouded mind.
He has also ignored multiple warnings from us regarding precisely these sorts of unsolicited communications, which is why you’re now reading about them.
Get some help, Jeffrey. If you don’t, your life is going to continue spiraling out of control.
That’s our “warning” to you.
Of course, if you want SC Hotline to keep fading further and further in our rearview mirror (and into irrelevancy), then by all means continue doing what you’re doing.
We have no doubt that your implosion will be tremendously entertaining to cover.

To whom it may concern:
Mr. Sic you have a way of cutting straight to the heart of things.
I have witnessed this behavior myself from Mr. Sewell and the fact it is condoned if not encouraged by Lerner, Cahaly and the rest of “Floyd’s (Consultant) Army” is reprehensible.
Let’s hope that Jeffrey takes you up on your suggestion and that Karen Floyd and her consultants stop feeding this loose cannon false info and start publicly condemning his reckless attacks.

I know for a fact that Sewell is making up a lot of this BS as he goes. As someone very close to the campaign, (read: I am a public supporter of KKF to lead the SCGOP) Sewell has not been involved in really anything with the Floyd camp. All of this is in his head. I have no doubt that he has not been included in anything regarding to the campaign because he is a loose cannon. Karen knows better.
Stop trying to make a name for yourself. You are trying too hard, doing it wrong, and failing while ruining your name. Please have a reality check and get some help.

It appears that Karen threw Katon under the bus in Goose Creek. Why?
