Anton Gunn makes the mildest of criticisms of SC Republicans and gets this thrashing?? Really?? Seems like you just needed a hook to bash Obama. Pretty weak.

Moreover, from my perspective SC’s current problems are not related to big guvment, just the contrary these conservative fools have sold the people on the notion that their taxes are too high–the old Reaganite formulation that “government is the problem.” It was an effective electoral strategy to be sure, but it has left us just a peg above a developing nation.

for the right side – like you’re the first person to ask this question – Obama did offer Gunn a job and he turned it down so that he could work on improving South Carolina – why don’t you ask him yourself instead of a universe of bloggers you don’t know – go to the statehouse website, look up his number, and verify the information – since you trust the blog so much maybe Sic Willie can do the thinking for you and ask the Gunn

Anton has made it abundantly clear he rather stay down here and work in the bass-ackwards legislature than go to Washington, DC. I don’t understand why he would want to stay here and deal with these goons. But I have heard it on high regard he could damn near get any appointment he wants.

I guess you can’t fault a guy for having good will and charity in his heart for our state.

Kudos to him for not catching Beltway Fever!

Gunn is an avowed supporter of Obama. Obama has paid lip service to the spirit of “bipartisanship” while forcing his bailout plans (they’re working great, by the way) down the throats of Republicans. Now Gunn is complaining about the lack of bipartisanship in the SC House.

If you don’t follow the logic of the irony here, maybe it explains why Gunn’s “retarded” comments have such an ardent fan-base.

At the end of the day, I don’t think Will was trying to crucify Gunn, just giving him a little jab. Lighten up, Francis.

Will, you have officially gone off the deep end. I started reading your blog a few months ago on the advice of some friends leading up to the election. I find some of your posts funny but most of what you write to be insulting and immature. Grow up and get an idea once in a while. Anton Gunn might be one of the best new freshman we have had in Columbia in years (Republican or Democrat) and I am not going to let you try to take a good man down from your lofty unregulated perch at the top of South Carolina’s blogs. I realize you feel untouchable in your current position but while the internet and blogs can offer someone like yourself a formidable platform to spew it is also one of the greatlest humblers of men in modern time. Your own people will bring you down, not the lawyers or the RINOS you like to discuss so much. Your tone has turned to negative and it is a turn off to your readers. Consider yourself warned.
