Former gubernatorial chief-of-staff and veteran S.C. communications guru Bob McAlister took a break from making the big sweet dollars to pay our little website a visit over the weekend, penning a perspicacious and provocative column exclusively for FITS.

In addition to comparing Sic Willie to the Nazis (and then apologizing to the Nazis), McAlister’s column delved into the origins of South Carolina’s “minimally adequate” standard of public education.

Turns out the language that’s spawned what McAlister refers to as a “cottage industry” in this state is nowhere to be found in the S.C. Constitution.

In other news you may have missed, South Carolina got its first stimulus check and S.C. Republicans are debating their party’s future via a new Facebook group.
