SCGOP’s Future Debated On Facebook
For a party we thought was hopelessly stuck on dial-up modems and VHS tapes, South Carolina Republicans are getting a bit better wired to the new technology lately.
Earlier this month, we wrote about a group of social conservatives who teamed up to create a new grassroots activist community, and this week nearly two hundred South Carolina Republicans have become members of a new Facebook discussion group aimed at reshaping the future of the SCGOP.
Created by Clemson graduate Justin Evans, the goal of the new Facebook group is to “provide a forum through which folks can discuss their views on what it is going to take to return the Republican Party to political respectability both here in SC and nationwide.”

You should check out Kevin Hall’s wall post where he frames the choice of the GOP as one of Sanford/DeMint vs. Giuliani/Specter. Gee, I guess the over 200 Republican politicos in this Facebook group won’t be able to see through that one. I expect we’ll be hearing a lot about “Rudy Giuliani” in the context of “Karen Floyd” coming from Kevin Hall in the months to come.

Yeah-I thought the same thing. But let’s face it, Romney wasn’t much better than Giuliani unless you like flip floppers, and DeMint endorsed Romney.

Big difference between Rudy and Romney. Rudy supports gay marriage, pro-abortion and gun control. Romney changed his mind on abortion as did Ronald Reagan. He is also pro-growth, reign in government spending which we are seeing Obama reverse Reagan policies. Third, he was for a strong military. Romney is very close to Reagan Republican model. Romney is what the country needs in this economic turmoil.
