Spartanburg County GOP Chairman Rick Beltram has a way with words … although he probably never expected you to hear these.
Beltram, whose mouth has gotten him in trouble on numerous occasions in the past, has been caught on tape promising to withhold support for U.S. Sen. Jim Demint during his 2010 election.
Why would he do that? Because DeMint has endorsed one of Beltram’s rivals, Columbia attorney Kevin Hall, in the race for SCGOP party chairman.
Here’s what Beltram had to say about that:
When Jim DeMint comes by in (2010), Karen (Floyd)’s not going to be county chairman, Kevin Hall is not going to be county chairman, Beltram will be county chairman and when he comes and wants to know what we can do for him, I am going to be on my hands.
First of all, you just gotta love these self-important Republican idiots who perpetually speak of themselves in the third person.
Like current SCGOP Chairman Katon Dawson, for example, who’s always running around saying things like “nawp, nawp, Katon never said that!”
Anyway, the recording was published on the Upstate website The Conservatist, and can be accessed by clicking on the clip below …

Beltram will come in a distant 4th in this race. What a bonehead.
None of the above will get 3rd.

The voice recorder must have been a blackberry, limited to 15 seconds… because it cut off the last part where he said “and knees”.

I think we need to write-in Earl Capps. I read his blog. I know his candidacy is a joke, but then again, so are most of the current candidate, but at least he’s honest about it.
