Play Money

Having successfully loaded up President Barack Obama’s economic “stimulus” with billions of dollars in liberal, agenda-driven pork, Congressional Democrats (and a few Republicans, to be fair) went back to wasting our money “regular-style” this week.

Specifically, lawmakers added $7.7 billion in earmarks to a $410 billion spending bill – despite the fact that President Barack Obama specifically pledged to crack down on earmarks during his campaign

The bill – which passed the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday – has over 9,000 earmarks in it, including several from Obama Cabinet members who inserted them last year while they were still lawmakers.

This is flippin’ nuts, people.

The budget deficit – the deficit, not the debt – is $1.7 trillion.

You would think now might be the time to show a little restraint …

Term limtis and a line-item veto. That’s the only solution.

Will – are you going to write about your former boss not vetoing a tax increase bill this week?

Let’s see your source for this. Or are you just repeating GOP talking points you heard on FoxNews?

    SteveDave,

I wouldn’t think FITS gets these principles from FOX, who is besmitten with the likes of Mike Huckabee, who governed his state like a Democrat. Spent like a Democrat. Was beholden to the NEA like a Democrat.

FOX — who has Bill O’Reilly as their biggest, most obnoxious loud mouth, and who is really just a big “big government” bully turned “Republican” for the contracts and bling bling! [Hannity is mini-Bill.]

You don’t need a “source” for common sense. It’s called ECONOMICS.

I love repugnants. Junior Bush pisses away hundreds of billions in Iraq or puts it in his plutocrat buddies’ pockets and now all of a sudden repugnants are deficits hawks.

    How about:

Having successfully passed off President Barack Obama’s liberal, agenda-driven pork bill as an economic “stimulus,” Congressional Democrats (and a few Republicans, to be fair) continued wasting our money “regular-style” this week.
