We’re all for calling out government bureaucrats for their exorbitant salaries, but when the “bureaucrat” in question is winning games and generating millions of dollars for their “agency,” it’s tough to argue that they don’t deserve the jack they get paid.
Take Connecticut basketball coach Jim Calhoun, who pulls down $1.6 million a year in state funds but whose basketball program wins national championships and generates $12 million each year for the University.
That’s a decent return on investment, if you ask us.
Certainly a better investment than anything in President Barack Obama’s, um, “stimulus” plan.
Anyway, a hippie blogger attending Calhoun’s post-game press conference after UConn’s win over South Florida on Saturday begged to differ.
